Audubon Implementation Plan for Baltimore

We are pleased to announce Audubon’s plan for Baltimore’s birds and communities. Our goal is to create a greener, more sustainable Baltimore, where increased and improved bird habitat addresses climate issues in environmental justice neighborhoods.

Committed to a greener Baltimore and a healthier Chesapeake Bay, Audubon prioritizes actions that meet the needs of birds and communities. Green patches of many shapes and sizes contribute to migratory bird stopover habitat as well as climate resilience and community well-being in a city that is faced with habitat loss, excess heat, and flooding. This means creating and restoring spaces with native plants and public paths that help to reduce the impacts of climate change in Baltimore neighborhoods. Audubon will prioritize underinvested communities for this work and continue to honor their voices, leadership, and expertise. This way of working upholds our values of teamwork, partnership, meaningful relationships, and intentional inclusion of those excluded from environmental conversations.
