Pollinators! at the John James Audubon Center

June 22, 2024 - Audubon, PA

We’re teaming up with Martha’s Community Farm to celebrate pollinators!

Essential creatures, including bees, butterflies, moths, bats, beetles, and hummingbirds play a vital role in our ecosystems and are the unsung heroes behind the food we eat and the beauty that surrounds us.

Make a day of it as you walk or drive between our sites to enjoy tours, games, workshops, and more!

At JJAC, we’re excited that our very own beekeeper, Regina Rhoa of Grange Apiary, will give a presentation on, “How Honey Bees Collect Pollen and the Benefits for your Health,” followed by a visit to our hives to learn more about the art of beekeeping and their secret to success.

While you’re there, “bee” sure to check out our pollinator garden conveniently located a few steps from the hives and get a firsthand look at a garden specially designed for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Want to create a pollinator garden of your own? Visit our Pop-up Pollinator Plant Sale or make some seed balls for easy planting just about anywhere!
