Maryland's Climate Pollution Reduction Plan

Audubon Mid-Atlantic applauds the Maryland Department of Environment’s (MDE) release of the Climate Pollution Reduction Plan, a policy platform and plan to reduce reenhouse emissions by 60% by 2031 and to stay on track to achieve net zero emissions in the state by 2045. This plan outlines policy actions necessary to reach these ambitious climate goals, and we thank the Department of the Environment for including healthy forests and wetland management as critical components of the state’s climate plan. Thank you to all our members who helped us elevate these two issues as the plan was being developed! Your support has been critical in the development of these priorities. The Maryland Department of the Environment recently produced a news release for this report, available here.
