Look Up! Stargazing for Beginners at the John James Audubon Center
Saturday, March 29, 2025
7:00pm - 9:00pm Eastern Audubon, Pennsylvania
Location Details
John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove
1201 Pawlings Road, Audubon, 19403, PA
We will begin our evening with a short discussion of the importance of the stars and dark skies for bird migration and learning how Bird Safe Philly's Lights Out! program is making a difference for birds in our area.
After that we will journey into the starry night with Damien Ruffner, Audubon Program Manager for The Discovery Center. Damien will present Stargazing 101, which will walk you through what you need to know such as what to look for and what equipment is needed. After the presentation, we'll head outside to begin exploring the wonders of the night sky together.
We will have telescopes on hand, but guests are encouraged to bring binoculars and perhaps a comfy blanket to lay on – or wrap up in - while looking up at the sky.
All ages are welcome. Please dress for the weather. The event schedule is below.
