Join us on World Migratory Bird Day for this exciting program!
You’ll learn about the incredible Circuit Trails system we have in our backyard and how efforts to connect green spaces and trails for people, can also reduce habitat fragmentation that negatively impacts birds and improve ecosystem services like clean air and water for us all.
We’ll start things off with a presentation discussing the latest plans for trail expansion that supports a growing “active transportation network.”
We’ll also talk about the role of birds as indicators of environmental health, the benefits birds, and particularly bird song, bring to spending time outdoors, and how you can support state and local policies that enhance connectivity between habitats, preserve natural resources, protect birds, and improve public health.
Following the discussion, we’ll head out on a biking tour of the Audubon Loop Trail and the Perkiomen Trail led by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
